The MIX Host Homes

January 25, 2010

We’re looking for families to host students for The MIX 2010.  Families would need to host 8-10 students (each student doesn’t need a bed… couches, air mattresses, sleeping bags are sufficient), and provide transportation for their students throughout the weekend.  The only meal eaten in the host home is breakfast on Saturday of the event.  But, as you know, snacks for the evenings would probably be a great idea!  Each host home will have a small group leader who is responsible for maintaining order & leading small group sessions.

If interested, please contact Pastor Bronson at bcrawford@graceathens.com.  Thanks in advance for serving our students & helping to make this weekend  have a lasting impact on their lives!

The MIX 2010 Registration

January 14, 2010

We’re proud to offer online registration for The MIX 2010.  Click here to register your student!

YouthTracker.net

January 14, 2010

Several months ago we transitioned to YouthTracker.net as our data management solution.  This transition has allowed us to track students more efficiently and communicate more effectively with students/parents.  This web-based solution has many benefits, but I’d like to highlight one specifically…

Online registration is now available!!  I’ll provide a link that you can follow to register your student for any event!  If your student wants to invite a friend that’s not in our database, they’ll be able to create an account as well.  Online payments can be made also (it’s actually required to complete online registration).  Please keep in mind that the registration fees are always non-refundable!

I hope this transition will serve your family well!

New Thru 30

January 12, 2010

It’s something we SHOULD do. It’s something we WANT to do. It’s something we NEED to do. And the best part is… we’re doing it together.

Every year thousands of people promise themselves they’re going to do it this year. They’re going to read through the Bible. Or they’re going to read a little bit everyday. Or they’re just going to start fresh and do better this year. Most people don’t make it. Not even through the first month.

But this year is different. We’re going to start with something we can all handle. It’s the new year, and we’re reading the New Testament. And we’re doing it in 30 days. It’s called New Thru 30!!

Starting January 13th, we’ll begin a brand new 5 week series called New Thru 30!  Each week’s message will correlate with the current week’s reading.  Reading plans are available in the Student Worship Center.  Feel free to join us, but we’re asking you to encourage your student(s) through this commitment.  It’s only 45 minutes, 5 days a week!  We hope to see your student(s) as we seek to prioritize God’s Word for 2010.

The MIX 2010

January 4, 2010

The Mix 2010 is a community-wide gathering for 6-12th grade students full of high-energy music, relevant talks, exciting games, and mind-blowing fun — all with hundreds of their friends!  From large group experiences to small group times in host homes, it will be a weekend your student won’t forget!! We’ll be joining over 8 other churches for this event.

The Mix will take place February 26-28, 2010.  The large group experiences will be hosted by Church of the Nations and students will stay in area host homes at night.  To register your student, please submit payment along with the registration portion of the brochure.  Brochures can be found in either foyer or in the Student Worship Center at church.

We are pleased to have Eddie Kirkland leading worship and Clay Scroggins preaching at The Mix.  Clay and Eddie are both on staff at NorthPoint Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.

How much does it cost?  I’m extending the early registration fee of $40 through Wednesday night, January 6th.  The price will go up to $50 through January 31st, and $60 thereafter.  All registrations are due no later than Sunday, February 21st!!  Checks should be made payable to Grace Fellowship.

This will be our only event of the semester!  We hope to see your student in The MIX!!

battle-of-the-sexes

New Series on Wednesday Nights:  “Battle of the Sexes”

All 6-12th grade students are invited to join us as we discuss the struggles teenagers have in relationships with the opposite sex.

February 4 – “What is Love?” ::  A Look into God’s design for us to love.

February 11- “Baby, Don’t Hurt Me…” ::  Guarding your heart in the dating world.

February 18- “No More…” ::  Maintaining sexual purity in a sexual society.

**Please note:  There will be mature subject matter covered during this series (namely Week 3).  If you’d prefer your child not to be involved in these discussions, we completely respect that decision and look forward to seeing them in the future.

Disciple Now 2009

February 3, 2009

dnow-09-art

Disciple Now is a Student Retreat for 6-12th grade students.  Students will stay in host homes with families from Grace Fellowship, join in small group dialogues, participate in a service project, and come together in the evenings for worship experiences with over 300 students  in the county.

Grace Fellowship is privileged to host this year’s Dnow.  Worship will be led by Aaron Keyes (worship leader at Grace Fellowship Church in Lawrenceville, GA and nationally recognized artist).  Anson McMahon (student pastor at 12 Stone church in Lawrenceville, GA) will be our speaker.  The theme for DNow is “Here and Now” and we will encourage students to pursue God’s will for their lives “Here & Now” rather than simply preparing for something in the future.

This year’s DNow will be February 27-March 1.  Cost is now $50.

If you are interested in serving for the weekend, please contact Pastor Bronson.  We need volunteers for Host Homes, Meals, Registration, Security, and Transportation.
